There are two things that my husband and I love to do

There are two things that my husband and I love to do – traveling and eating. And for our second anniversary, we decided to do just that. We traveled to a tropical island and treated ourselves to the finest food that they had to offer. Sharing with you our story because it is always nice to look back on happy times.

We had planned this trip for quite some time. It was our dream vacation. We booked a flight to this tropical island in Southeast Asia because we had read great reviews about the place. The beach had fine white sand, the view was amazing, and it was not crowded with tourists. The downside was that there was no hotel in the area. You had to ride a boat for 2 hours to get to the island. Well, my husband and I were used to backpacking so it was not much of a problem on our part. We just brought our tent with us and we were all set to go.

Upon reaching the island, we knew it was all worth it. We understood what the rave was all about. The scenery was picture perfect. There were unique rock formations, lots of trees, and the water was so clear. The sand was so fine it was like walking on powdered milk. And I am glad that there are no hotels and other major commercial establishments in the immediate vicinity because they were able to preserve the raw and natural beauty of the island. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We were cut off from civilization and our smartphones had no signal so we were really able to really talk and reconnect with each other. And the food was something else. The locals caught fresh lobster for us and cooked it in butter, lemon, and garlic. It was so delicious! Needless to say, we had the time of our lives.

Safety Tips When Going Outdoors

Safety Tips When Going Outdoors

The outdoors is calling and you want to heed its call. But before anything else, ask yourself if you are prepared for this kind of adventure. There are risks involved in going outdoors. While some may perceive this to add to the level of excitement, others would say that it would be foolishness on your part if you will not prepare yourself for the challenge ahead. We say it is always better to be prepared and cautious. That is why we have here some tips on how to keep yourself safe when going outdoors.

First, do your research well. Make sure you know the area, exact location, trails, paths, and weather. Familiarize yourself with the area or ask your family and friends who have already gone there to give you tips on what to expect when you get there. Read blogs about the specific location where you are headed so that you can learn from other people’s experiences. Bring a map with you to help you navigate the area. Knowing the weather will help you in packing the right clothes to wear and stuff to bring. If there is an extreme weather condition, you better cancel your trip until the weather condition improves.

Second, bring a friend with you or at least, inform someone where you are going. Leave important information with someone you trust so that he or she can check on you and make sure that you are safe.

Third, bring a first aid kit with you and make sure that you know how to use it.
Fourth, bring your travel essentials but pack lightly. You do not want to be burdened with a heavy baggage when you go outside but you also need to bring the right gears and materials that would help you as you go along in your adventure.
These are just some tips and important reminders when you travel to the great outdoors. Keep safe buddies!

As we always say, the outdoors are calling. But we know for a fact that not everyone can heed its call. However, we also know the importance of experiencing what the outdoors has to offer. Aside from fun and exciting activities such as mountain climbing, hiking, rock climbing, or skiing, being in the outdoors lets us reconnect with nature. We rediscover the natural wonders of our planet and bask in its beauty. Such an experience refreshes the mind, body, and soul. It brings a natural high. Therefore, the outdoors offers a holistic encounter that has a positive influence on the well-being of an individual. As such, we want everyone to have the opportunity to experience the great outdoors – without worrying about the financial aspect of joining such an event. That is why friends of Andy and Lucy have decided to set up a fundraising project called Cam and Bear Fund for Adventure at Go Fund Me. This fundraising activity is intended especially for the youth who do not have the resources to fund their expenses for outdoor activities. Sending them to the great outdoors is not just for them to have fun. We are sending them to these places with the hope that they will discover a part of themselves that they never knew existed. After all, we get to know our strengths and weaknesses when faced with challenges. We are also sending them to these places so that they will have a greater appreciation for nature and our environment and hopefully, they can become ecowarriors and protectors of our planet so that we can all continue to enjoy its natural beauty.

We ask you to support our campaign for Cam and Bear Fund for Adventure. For those who would like to donate, please go to our Go Fund Me account to be able to transfer funds.

Cam and Bear

Cam and Bear is a place that celebrates love

love for one another, love for others, and love for the environment. Here, we pay tribute to the loving couple, Andy and Lucy, whose love story ended abruptly when Andy died in a tragic accident during one of their outdoor adventures. Their love story was witnessed by the moon, stars, sun, clouds, mountains, wind, snow, trees, and the grass. They were one with nature. They felt very much alive whenever they felt the sun’s rays on their faces. They felt the love when the sun showed different beautiful colors during the sunset. Their story also spoke of their love for others. Their adventures were not solely for fun. Their actions were selfless. They did it in the spirit of camaraderie with other people whom they had considered as kindred spirits as they take each step into the great outdoors. Their love was a testimony to the beauty of Mother Nature. They had shown us the importance of taking care of our environment. We should conserve and preserve our natural resources so that the next generations can still enjoy them too.

The Cam and Bear website feature inspiring stories and blogs about love and adventure, much like the life lived by this loving couple. Andy and Lucy believed that life was one big adventure and we should live it to the fullest. We also feature different places that would be perfect for your next outdoor adventure especially those places that are not usually found in the recommended tourist destinations. We like to share with the community our newest discoveries as we go off the beaten path. After all, there is so much more to the outdoors than what meets the eye. You would be surprised with what you find in that next turn at the curve at the end of the road. We also write reviews about outdoor products that would surely be essential when you go on your next adventure. Andy and Lucy were a simple couple so do not worry, there are no false advertisements here, just plain and honest truth about what you need to bring and do when going outdoors so that you are prepared and safe all the time. We also have photos and videos that show the amazing beauty of the great outdoors in different parts of the world. May these inspire you to go to your next destination or outdoor activity.

Andy and Lucy loved the outdoors so much and they knew what good it could do to one’s mind, body, and spirit that is why they would like everyone to experience enjoying the great outdoors. This fundraising is specially intended for the youth who do not have the financial capacity to pursue their interest and passion for outdoor activities. We would like to fund their very first outdoor adventure – rock climbing, mountain climbing, skiing, hiking, or whatever they want to do. The important thing is that they would have the opportunity to experience the great outdoors and discover a part of themselves that they never knew existed. We want them to go out of their garage doors in Milwaukee simply because the outdoors are calling!
