There are two things that my husband and I love to do – traveling and eating. And for our second anniversary, we decided to do just that. We traveled to a tropical island and treated ourselves to the finest food that they had to offer. Sharing with you our story because it is always nice to look back on happy times.
We had planned this trip for quite some time. It was our dream vacation. We booked a flight to this tropical island in Southeast Asia because we had read great reviews about the place. The beach had fine white sand, the view was amazing, and it was not crowded with tourists. The downside was that there was no hotel in the area. You had to ride a boat for 2 hours to get to the island. Well, my husband and I were used to backpacking so it was not much of a problem on our part. We just brought our tent with us and we were all set to go.
Upon reaching the island, we knew it was all worth it. We understood what the rave was all about. The scenery was picture perfect. There were unique rock formations, lots of trees, and the water was so clear. The sand was so fine it was like walking on powdered milk. And I am glad that there are no hotels and other major commercial establishments in the immediate vicinity because they were able to preserve the raw and natural beauty of the island. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We were cut off from civilization and our smartphones had no signal so we were really able to really talk and reconnect with each other. And the food was something else. The locals caught fresh lobster for us and cooked it in butter, lemon, and garlic. It was so delicious! Needless to say, we had the time of our lives.
